NZ Post relaunches programme offering thousands of free courier services to Kiwi charities

Funding grants

New Zealand Post has announced the return of its “Delivering for Good” initiative, a significant programme aimed at bolstering the efforts of charities and social enterprises across Aotearoa by providing substantial relief on courier costs.

The national postal service is offering up to 34,000 free domestic courier deliveries to at least ten selected organisations. The programme, now welcoming applications, is designed to free up vital funds, allowing these groups to channel resources directly into their community-focused work, which spans areas from mental health support to enhancing social inclusion.

Conor Keane, Sustainability Governance Manager for NZ Post, emphasised the programme’s role in extending the organisation’s core function of connection. “Every day we connect people and places — this programme allows us to connect communities with the resources and support they need most,” Mr Keane stated. “It’s a way we can back those doing big things.”

Launched initially in 2021, Delivering for Good has already made a considerable impact, facilitating the transport of over 96,000 parcels for participating organisations nationwide.

One such organisation is the Mental Health Foundation. According to Zooey Neumann from the Foundation, the programme has been instrumental in expanding their reach. “The free deliveries from NZ Post have helped us scale up our operation to send even more mental health and wellbeing resources all around Aotearoa,” Ms Neumann said. She noted that the Foundation has dispatched over 424,000 free resources using the service since July 2024, contributing to the wellbeing of individuals and communities “one parcel at a time!”

NZ Post is issuing a broad call for applications, encouraging groups both large and small, from local initiatives to established national names, to put themselves forward. “We want to hear from groups helping people feel seen, supported and connected,” Mr Keane urged. “From care packages to community goods — if you’re delivering for good, we want to help you deliver further.”

Applications for the Delivering for Good programme opened on Monday, 28 April 2025, and will remain open until Sunday, 18 May 2025. Interested charities and social enterprises can find further details and submit their applications via the official programme website at deliveringforgood.nzpost.co.nz.
