We respect the Governing Body’s decision and await further information from the Chief Executive of Auckland Council, Phil Wilson.
We acknowledge the positive feedback from Councillors and stakeholders during this process. The very clear message from the majority of Councillors was that they wish to maintain momentum in the Eke Panuku regeneration programme and not lose the skills and capability of our staff.
Eke Panuku is focused on supporting its team through this uncertainty to ensure that the changes maximise opportunities for Auckland, the Council and our people.
Eke Panuku Development Auckland was established out of CCO reform. We understand the importance of ensuring the operating model will deliver on the long-term plan and the future of Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland, and we are open to changes to improve.
At this stage, Eke Panuku will carry on with this year’s programme and begin to plan for next year’s programme as is normal at this time of year.
We expect more clarity from Auckland Council in February including some indication of changes to structures. This will be followed consultation in April/May so that the new structure can take effect no later than 1 July.
Eke Panuku is not running the integration process however we are assured that council will look for feedback from us.
