PPTA Te Wehengarua Strike Day activities Thursday 16 March 2023

This Thursday PPTA Te Wehengarua secondary and area school members will be striking in protest at the lack of support in our collective agreement negotiations.  Huge thanks to regional and branch officers who have been organising activities in your communities on the day.

Arrive at one of our picketing locations at 7:45 am so we’re ready to make our voices heard during the rush hour from 8am to 9am. 

These locations are: 

  • The Roundabout on Valley Road and Goulstone Road – parking is available on Goulstone Road and Gorge Road.
  • The Roundabout by the bridge of Landing Road – parking is available by the Rowing Club.

We’ll head to the Old Council Buildings by 11:45 am ready to hikoi at midday. Speeches will commence after the hikoi arrives at Wharaurangi. There is parking available on Boon Street.

Option 3: sign up for one of the volunteering opportunities organized by our NETs rep (link was sent to branch chairs)
Option 4: organize some mahi within your branch to help people in your immediate community. (e.g. making meals for families, helping clear out homes or orchards etc)
