‘Petition to protect Te Aka Whai Ora reaches 10,000 signatures overnight’

A petition being hosted by democracy lobby group ActionStation calling on the Government not to scrap Te Aka Whai Ora has now reached over 10,000 signatures.

ActionStation’s director, Kassie Hartendorp said “we aren’t surprised this issue has taken off so quickly. The Government has cut out Māori voices, ignored evidence and expertise, and has no plan for how they will ensure Māori have positive health outcomes. It is blatantly obvious that their intent is about appeasing their racist supporters through populism, instead of looking after communities most in need.”
