As we approach the end of 2024, this has been a transformative year for the new Property Guru. Our commitment to continually improving and investing in the platform reflects our dedication to adding value and helping people build better lives.
We’ve recently introduced new features designed to enhance your experience and make the platform even more effective – here’s what’s new:
School data on the property details page and maps
School data has become an increasingly valuable consideration for prospective buyers and investors, especially those targeting young families. Properties near reputable schools are highly appealing and often contribute to long-term property value.
Our new school’s feature provides critical insights by highlighting schools within the property’s catchment area and their precise distance. For clients exploring options outside the catchment, nearby schools are also displayed.
Additionally, this information is now available in a map view, enabling clients to easily visualise school locations in relation to the property, nearby landmarks, and main roads.
Customisable columns in list view/export
The list view provides a wealth of data points, but displaying everything at once can be overwhelming. With our new customisable columns feature, you can easily add or remove columns, allowing you to prioritise the most critical information in a single view. Plus, you can now resize columns for complete flexibility, making it easier to organise and compare your lists quickly and effectively.
Listing Descriptions
For properties for sale, you can now easily access listing descriptions. As an agent, you can retrieve any of your past descriptions, saving time by reusing previous wording instead of starting from scratch (and if you’ve lost that perfect blurb, don’t worry – we’ve got it stored for you).

A key focus for 2025 is enhancing our mapping functionality. This will include tools for selecting properties in bulk and adding overlays to understand the data points around each property better.
We will begin this journey by rolling out the following features:
Flood map layers on the map view
We will introduce a flood map layer that shows if a property is in a flood zone, its proximity to other flood areas, and the impact of flooding in the region, including on major roads. While we will continue to expand the coverage of these map layers, we will initially focus on Auckland and Wellington, with additional locations to be added in the first quarter of 2025.
Select multiple properties on a map view
In our upcoming enhanced map view, you can see search results directly on the map. This feature will allow you to select properties from a more visual perspective.
